As a first act we love to let you know more about Enzo Elia, the young italian dj/producer responsable of great tracks as "Helen" and "Cippizoe" as well as author of finest remixes as "Yes We Can" (Oliver Koletzki & Roland Clark) and "10PM" (Crimea X) just to mention the latest ones. But now it's times to meet Enzo and his music! Enjoy the interview and if you are new to his sound take an overview of his productions HERE and see what we are talking about. Enjoy the day with!

I: Hi Enzo!
Enzo: Hi Inndigital, thank you for this chance.

I: We know you live in Germany actually, what pushes an Italian dj to move to Berlin and which are the points of contact between these realities?
Enzo: I think that the place where i live don’t have any influence on my creativity, my musical intuitions just come from my intimate necessity to express myself. By now every city is a meltin pot and you can see the consequences of it also in the music we listen around. I think the point of contact between Germany and Italy is the attention of Italians to everything that happen all over the world. On other hand i must say that in italy we have really good djs and producers but unfortunately there is a selfish attitude that often preclude the creation of an artistic current and penalizes the birth of new talents.

I: Which are the major difficulties in your dj/producer career?
Enzo: The major trouble is to express my background through the music i produce and to let the people be focused on that and not on the last photo i publish on my web space. The market is doped by the urgent necessity to sale music and often the media put too much emphasis on declaring the birth of a “new genre”  so rhythms and sounds quickly defined “avantgarde” in few months are becoming obsolete and you would like to forget the existence of it.

I: What is your approach making music?
Enzo: I like to name the music i listen to and the one that i produce as “Inner Music”, it’s just an intimate thing. I work trying to keep instinct and spontaneity at the same level, i’m listen to many kind of music and this helps me a lot in the process.

I: New technologies and new sounds: what do you think about?

Enzo:I believe that new technologies give an easy access to djing and producing and are helps to save moneys and time. Unfortunately sometimes the same facilities become synonym of cheap sound quality. By the way i don’t have a washing machine and i love to wash my stuff by hand.

I: The music scene today is changing in a very fast way. What do you think about?
Enzo: On my opinion fast changes are often index of a superficial approach to what it is listened to or to what is produced. What the market propose it ends in few months, personally at this time i enjoy to play in my set some classic sound instead of something new that don’t give me any emotion.

I: We know you are constantly in the studio making music and your tunes has been delivered on many labels, so here it is the 1 billion dollars question: which is the secret to be produced by a record company?
Enzo: Unfortunally i don’t know any special secret to catch the attention of a record company. I must say that was foundamental for me to meet Marco "PeeDoo" Gallerani, a real label manager with a great feeling which supported my artistic side and gave me the opportunity to grow up my sound. I will always thanks him for his work on me and same respect goes to all the people involved in my projects.

I: Outside the Dj booth and recording studio, who is Enzo Elia?
Enzo: I’m exactly what i am in the studio or on the decks. I love listen to my favourite music, spending time in quite places and talking with my girlfriend.

I: Which are the reasons that pushes you to remix a song?

Enzo: There is always something that pick my attention but not everytime i put in my remix which is considered the most important part of a song. I just done my work for Oliver Koletzki & Roland Clark tune “Yes we Can” (Hell Yeah) and as you know Roland vocals are very suggestive, but at the end of the day i decided to underline the rhythm side of the track and to use the vocals just as a "cameo". To be honest i think the result is that the track is even more focused on vocals now.

I: You have listened to lots of djs and producers, what you think about?
Enzo: I respect many producers and djs, in particular those who are preserving their musical identity and an high professional profile although the hard times that is having the music market. Their efforts truly inspire me and push me ahead more and more.

I: Thank you Enzo, we wish you all the best for your future and see you soon at Inndigital.com!
Enzo: Thank you guys, i wish you great things too and stay tuned for my next productions!
