Marius Laurentiu & Andrea Bigi - Jessica's Sax - T-Bahn
After the positive release on Presslaboys' label Presences Rec., Andrea & Marius are back with this second ambitious EP named ''Jessica's Sax'' on Jitzu and Sire G serious imprint T-Bahn. Two tech-house track's with funky groove sax and piano loops, pumping percussive old-school attitude with new-school finesse, female vocal loops and a sub bass throb that makes you wanna move, just perfect for the summer. For the remix job, we see the well know and talented guy from Bla Bla Records (Netherlands) Willem de Mulder aka Mulder who comes with a killer dance floor remix. Rat-a-tat snare fills and tricky blasts of white noise and reverb, the track is one long, extended build-up with vocal cuts perfect for those post dawn hours, their phased tones and elliptical loops dragging you deep into a hypnotic zone. These essential three tracks confirm that Marius & Andrea's status as artists is rising, and they will continue to surprise you, that's for sure! Listen HERE |

Phonique - Kissing Stranger - Dessous
Phonique a.k.a Michael Vater is something of an institution in the realms of Deep House music. Residing in Berlin, the epicenter of all that is modern, historic and cutting edge about electronic music, the long-serving DJ and producer returns with his brand new long player. His third studio album, ‘Kissing Strangers‘, honours Phonique‘s love for all the musical styles that he so dutifully conveys to the dance floor. Across 15 lovingly produced tracks (each co-produced with long-time colleague Alex Kruger a.k.a Tigerskin, and also a heavyweight list of respected producers like Gui Boratto, H.O.S.H., Kiloo, Kikiorix, Abyss and Pupkulies) we encounter all that is rich, pure and beautiful about modern electronic music. From catchy, underground-pop moments, to strong club-ready cuts, it’s a long player in the true sense of the phrase. Heavily laden with touching, timeless vocals from the likes of Ian Whitelaw, Ruben, Rebecca, Louie Austen, Georg Levin and Nadeshda, the fruits of real song writing talent add to the rich mix of uplifting melodic progressions and trademark Phonique synth lines. There are so many potential classics on offer here it’s hard to know where to start... but let’s assume you start at the beginning! Listen HERE |

Various Artists - Wasted Chicago Youth Live at Smart Bar Part 1&2 - Fresh Meat
Fresh Meat is proud to announce the success of its first live experiment! On November 21st 2009 Mazi Namvar and Justin Long A.K.A. Wasted Chicago Youth deployed to the Smart Bar on an assignment of audio mass destruction. The mission was to return to grass roots and apply guerrilla techniques in recording two DJ mixes that would exclude any artificial intelligence. This recording would not compromise Human for the Machine. The manifesto was to capture the synergy between music selector and music enthusiast while lost in the vortex of 'Party'. Justin and Mazi's blueprint was to use two turntables, a Funktion One sound system and a mixer while armed with an arsenal of music from the likes of Traxx, Nathan Drew Larsen, Spencer Parker, DJ Sneak, M.in, Bearweasel, Marc Romboy, Kink, Kris Wadsworth, Michal Ho, Brett Johnson, Dyed Soundorom, Shonky and other phonic soldiers. Microphones were judiciously placed around the venue to seize the rapture of the crowd. On the night all elements fell into place. While biological life forms fused together in dance; emotion and audio were captured successfully. The mission was accomplished! Now Fresh Meat presents the results of that experiment in a 2 volume compilation including all the separate tracks used in the mix now available in full DJ friendly glory. Wasted Chicago Youth fighting audio crime one gig at a time! Listen to Part 1 HERE | Part 2 HERE |
